STONEKAST partnered with SMM to deliver a bespoke solution for Charles Street Square, a pivotal public space in Parramatta that connects Charles and Phillip Streets to the Parramatta River, including the well-trafficked Parramatta Wharf. This project required the design and fabrication of custom precast concrete stairs, tailored to meet stringent standards and the specific needs of the site.

One of the primary challenges was ensuring the stairs were not only durable and visually appealing but also met critical safety standards. To achieve this, STONEKAST meticulously engineered the stairs with a precise recess to accommodate nosing safety strips, allowing for straightforward installation and enhanced safety for the high foot traffic area.
